Visitors welcome as U.S. Rep. Nathaniel Moran addresses Kilgore Rotarians Wednesday

U.S. Congressman Nathaniel Moran will be speaking to Kilgore Rotarians and guests Wednesday during the civic organization’s weekly meeting.

Taking office in 2023, Moran is the U.S. representative for Texas’s 1st congressional district. He’ll be speaking on a wide range of topics tied to his efforts in Washington D.C.

Kilgore Rotary Club meets at noon Wednesdays at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 314 N. Henderson Blvd.

“He’s just going to come and talk,” says Jana Perkins, Kilgore Rotary Club’s Program Coordinator.

Visitors are welcome, she noted; anyone who will be joining for lunch needs to reach out before 5 p.m. Monday evening to reserve a meal for $12. Latecomers are still very welcome, Perkins added.

She was excited Moran had availability in his schedule to come meet with the club members. Notably, Rotarians eschew politics in their meetings, but they welcome officeholders at the local, state and national level to come give more context on current affairs.

There’s no specific theme to Moran’s remarks: “He’s going to just kind of talk and give us some updates,” Perkins said, “and we’ll see what he has to say.”
