(Updated) Early voting begins Tuesday in the Spring 2025 cycle ahead of Election Day polling May 3.
April 22 is also the last day to request a ballot-by-mail.
According to GreggCountyVotes.com, Kilgore-area polling (city, college and school district) is centered on City Hall at 815 N. Kilgore St.
Polls will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 22-25, closed April 26-27 and open for two more days of #earlyvoting Monday and Tuesday, April 28-29. The same polling location will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. the first Saturday in May, #ElectionDay
• Ballots for the City of Kilgore, Texas include the mayoral race between incumbent Ronnie Spradlin and newcomer Darrin Mallett while Place 2 City Council member Alan VanDoren is running unopposed; his new term will begin later in May.
• Kilgore College Central Zone (Kilgore ISD) residents have a three-way race to consider for trustee: candidates include Jeannie Johnson, Verenice Ordorica and Ruth F. Williams. In the KC North Zone (White Oak ISD, Gladewater ISD and Sabine ISD) Jason Steele is now unopposed — longtime trustee Larry A. Woodfin has withdrawn his candidacy as he’s moving out of the North Zone: “I’m in a bit of an awkward position,” he quipped to voters at Kilgore Area Chamber of Commerce’s Candidates Forum April 7. The 23-year KC board veteran congratulated Steele on the dais that night.
• Kilgore ISD has two contested races for school board in addition to one unopposed candidate: Ubaldo Meraz and Johna Tritt are vying for KISD Place 5 and Place 7 incumbent Dana Sneed faces challenger Rudy Galvan; Rachel Harrington has no challenger in her re-election bid for Place 6 trustee.
