Nominations open for 2026 ‘Doc’ Ballard Award

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2026 W.T. “Doc” Ballard Award for Excellence in Public Health, NET Health’s highest award.

Services provided by the nominee may be in the area of civic, cultural, health, welfare, or philanthropic endeavors. View the attached media release for the full list of previous awardees.

Our annual award honors an organization or an individual that exemplifies public health by protecting and promoting the health of the community, and your nominee does not need to be a Public Health professional.  The following items are required for all nominations:

  1. The nomination letter should include specific and concise descriptions of how the nominee creates a positive impact on the health of the public.
  2. A one-page biography of the nominee.
  3. Up to 5 supporting documents (letters of support, journal, articles, etc.).
  4. One 4″ X 5″ photograph of the nominee.

All nominations must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

This year’s honoree will be recognized at the NET Health Board meeting on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
